A 53 y/o morbidly obese male had a history of buried penis. Six months prior he had surgery at the university for buried penis, including paniculectomy and circumcision.
The patient was referred by a plastic surgeon asking if I could help with the case. After evaluating the patient, I decided to place a Boston Scientific Tactra malleable implant to help keep the penis erect and prevent it from retracting back into the pannus while healing. As an added bonus, once it heals the patient may be able to have sexual intercourse as well. The patient agreed and decided to proceed with the surgery.
As you can see, we had an excellent surgical and functional result, as always. The patient was discharged home extremely happy.
